Security Tightened as TLP Plans ‘Aqsa Million March’
News Desk
Rawalpindi: Security has been significantly beefed up in Islamabad and Rawalpindi following Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan’s (TLP) announcement of a protest march from Faizabad to the American Embassy, termed the “Aqsa Million March.”
In response to the party’s call, law enforcement agencies have launched an extensive crackdown, detaining 117 TLP workers from various areas of Rawalpindi to prevent any law and order situation.
According to officials, the district administration and police have also devised a comprehensive security plan, which includes the possible blockade of key intersections and major thoroughfares across the twin cities.

Containers and trailers have been taken into custody by the police and stationed along major routes to be used for road closures if required.
Murree Road has been identified as one of the main points where traffic restrictions may be enforced. In Islamabad, containers have already been placed near the Faizabad Junction as a precautionary measure.
The enhanced security arrangements reflect growing concern over potential disruptions, with police and other law enforcement agencies placed on high alert to maintain peace and ensure public safety during the planned demonstration.
Two TLP activists booked for terrorism, conspiracy in Rawalpindi
Meanwhile, Chaklala police on Wednesday registered a case of terrorism and criminal conspiracy against two members of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) after recovering thousands of marble balls, catapults, sticks, and salt packets from their vehicle.
According to police, the seized items were allegedly intended to be used against law enforcement personnel, including police and Rangers, during TLP’s planned protest on October 10 (Thursday).
As per the First Information Report (FIR), a police patrol team stationed at Milad Chowk, Railway Road Scheme 9, signaled a suspicious car arriving from Gulzar-e-Quaid to stop. The occupants, however, attempted to flee but were intercepted shortly after.
Upon searching the vehicle, police recovered 54 bamboo sticks, 2,660 small marble balls, 35 hand catapults, 24 packets of salt, and 27 empty plastic bags.
Both suspects were taken into custody, and a case has been registered under terrorism and criminal conspiracy charges. Police said further investigation is underway to determine the extent of their involvement in the planned protest activity.
