SC Sends Bahria Town Properties Auction Case Back to Previous Bench
News Desk
Islamabad: The Supreme Court on Tuesday referred Bahria Town’s appeal against the auction of its properties back to the bench that had previously heard the case.
The appeal was scheduled for hearing before a bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. However, the chief justice recused himself, observing that it would be more appropriate for the same bench to continue the proceedings.
During the hearing, Bahria Town’s counsel informed the court that the Islamabad High Court’s detailed judgment had now been issued and that he intended to present additional arguments. The court allowed the submission.
The case was earlier heard by a three-member bench led by Justice Aminuddin. The Supreme Court has adjourned further proceedings indefinitely.
