RWMC Intensifies Efforts to Combat Dengue

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) is intensifying its efforts to combat the dengue virus in Rawalpindi.
According to an RWMC spokesperson, the company has been actively removing hundreds of tons of waste during the recent rains. They are also engaged in desilting drains and regularly conducting mechanical sweeping in various city areas.
To raise awareness about cleanliness and dengue prevention, RWMC’s communication teams are distributing waste bags and informational pamphlets across all tehsils in the district.
They are following comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and an action plan to eliminate dengue larvae, with weekly reports submitted to both the district and Punjab governments.
Residents are encouraged to monitor junkyards, schools, and construction sites for stagnant water, which can harbor dengue larvae. For any complaints, citizens are advised to call the helpline at 1139, where issues will be promptly addressed.
