Rupee Sheds 8 Paisa Against Dollar

Islamabad: The Pakistani rupee depreciated by 8 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Monday, closing at Rs 277.71 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs 277.63.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 278 and Rs 279.50, respectively.
Meanwhile, the price of the euro increased by Rs 1.47, closing at Rs 310.66 against the prior rate of Rs 309.19, as per the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen saw a slight rise of 1 paisa, closing at Rs 1.94, while the British pound gained 88 paisa, trading at Rs 372.12 compared to the previous day’s Rs 371.24.
Additionally, the exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 2 paisa and 1 paisa, closing at Rs 75.60 and Rs 74.02, respectively.
