Khyber: Severe weather conditions caused multiple emergencies in Khyber district on Friday, leaving five people injured in a house collapse and prompting large-scale rescue operations in Tirah Valley.

In the Bata Tel area of Khyber, at least five people sustained serious injuries when the roof of a mud-built house collapsed early Friday morning following heavy rainfall.

According to a private news channel, the structure gave way due to continuous rain, trapping occupants under the debris.

Rescue teams, assisted by local residents, rushed to the site and pulled out the injured, who were later shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Rescue 1122 continued relief operations in Tirah Valley, where heavy snowfall left dozens of travelers stranded. A spokesperson for Rescue 1122 said late-night rescue efforts were carried out to assist affected individuals in the area.

In Sandana, rescue teams successfully evacuated 55 people who were stranded in around 20 vehicles due to severe snowfall and slippery road conditions.

Teams from Khyber, Peshawar, Swabi, and Nowshera took part in the joint operation, working to rescue people and clear vehicles stuck at various locations.

Despite harsh weather and difficult terrain, rescue personnel continued their efforts to ensure the safety of stranded travelers. Rescue 1122 officials said relief operations would remain underway until all affected individuals and vehicles were safely evacuated.
