Revolutionary Charging Tech in New iPhone 16 Series

Islamabad: Apple has officially launched its highly anticipated iPhone 16 series, featuring significant enhancements in battery size, battery life, and charging speeds.

A standout feature of the new models is the improved fast charging capability, tailored to meet the growing demand for rapid recharging.

The iPhone 16 is equipped with larger internal batteries, requiring approximately four hours for a full charge under standard conditions.

However, thanks to advanced fast charging technology, users can now charge their devices from 0 percent to 50 percent in just 30 minutes, with a complete charge achieved in about two hours, greatly minimizing downtime, as reported by 9To5Mac.

In a notable first, the iPhone 16 series has adopted a USB-C charging port, facilitating quicker data transfer and charging speeds. Using a 30-watt power brick—such as those offered by Mophie or Apple’s own 35-watt dual charger the device can be fully charged in around two hours.

While the provided USB-C cable supports fast charging, users can also utilize higher-rated chargers; however, charging speeds will be capped at 27 watts. Chargers rated above 30 watts, such as those used for MacBooks, will not provide enhanced charging speeds.

Even a 20-watt charger performs admirably, requiring only 15 minutes longer for a full charge compared to the 30-watt charger, a difference that may be negligible for many users.

Additionally, Apple has upgraded its MagSafe wireless charging system for the iPhone 16 series. The new MagSafe chargers can now deliver up to 25 watts of power, an increase from the previous maximum of 15 watts.

To take advantage of this faster wireless charging, users will need a compatible MagSafe charger and a 30-watt power adapter, allowing the iPhone 16 to wirelessly charge from 0% to 50% in about 30 minutes.

However, it’s important to note that wireless charging can generate heat, which may slow down the charging process as the battery approaches full capacity to prevent overheating.

With the introduction of iOS 18, Apple has also rolled out a feature enabling users to monitor their charging speed. In the Battery section of Settings, users can now view a detailed graph of their charging history.
