Reviving Cinema: Fahad Mustafa to Produce and Star in Two New Films
News Desk
Karachi: As Humayun Saeed’s latest film Love Guru continues to dominate the box office, fellow cinema heavyweight Fahad Mustafa has announced his entry into film production, signalling a new chapter in his already illustrious career.
According to an entertainment portal, Fahad revealed that he is currently working on two upcoming film projects, where he will take on dual roles as both lead actor and producer. The films are set to be released within the next two years under his own production banner.
The move follows the phenomenal success of Love Guru, which has set new records in Pakistani cinema. The romantic comedy outperformed the previous blockbuster The Legend of Maula Jatt by earning Rs120 million in its first week, surpassing Maula Jatt’s Rs110 million opening. The film’s global earnings have now soared to Rs280 million, reaffirming the star power of Humayun Saeed and hinting at a revival for the country’s film industry.
Fahad Mustafa, who began his career in television with acclaimed dramas such as Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Ek Tamanna Lahasil Si, Kankar, and Daagh, rose to national prominence as the host of Jeeto Pakistan, a top-rated game show he has anchored since 2014.
His transition to cinema proved equally successful, with hit films like Na Maloom Afraad, Mah-e-Mir, Actor in Law—which earned him a Lux Style Award for Best Actor—Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, and Load Wedding. He made a notable return to television in 2024 with the drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, which further cemented his reputation as a versatile performer.
Fahad’s foray into production comes at a time of renewed momentum for the Pakistani film industry, with box office records being shattered and audience interest resurging. His upcoming projects are expected to add further strength to this revival.
