RDA Demolishes Century Town in Crackdown on Illegal Housing

Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Enforcement Squad, in accordance with the law, conducted an operation against Century Town, an illegal housing society situated in Mouza Bagga Sheikhan, demolishing its infrastructure.
According to an RDA spokesperson, the Task Force, directed by the Divisional Intelligence Committee, intensified its efforts against illegal housing schemes.
Century Town was targeted because despite warnings to cease illegal advertisements, plot bookings, and development activities, the scheme’s owners continued to operate booking offices in violation of regulations.
The operation team comprised RDA officials and personnel from Rawat police station. Notable members included Shiza Butt, Assistant Director of Planning at RDA, along with RDA Scheme and Building Inspectors, among others.
The spokesperson stated that the operation was carried out under the directives of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Muhammad Abdul Aamer Khattak, supervised by Director General (DG) RDA Kinza Murtaza, Additional DG RDA, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi, and City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi.
DG RDA Kinza Murtaza emphasized that the crackdown on illegal housing societies, mandated by the Commissioner, would persist, ensuring strict enforcement without bias against violators.
She advised citizens against investing in illegal schemes, encouraging them to seek information on legal housing societies from the RDA’s website (www.rda.gop.pk) or office.
