Rawalpindi Reports Two New Dengue Cases

Rawalpindi: In the last 24 hours, Rawalpindi district recorded two new cases of dengue, bringing the total confirmed cases to 2,682.

District Coordinator of Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC), Dr Sajjad Mehmood, on Thursday said both cases originated from the urban areas of Potohar town within the Municipal Corporation.

Currently, 24 patients are under treatment at the city’s allied hospitals, with 17 confirmed cases. Encouragingly, 2,663 individuals have been discharged after successful treatment.

Dr Sajjad highlighted that intensive indoor surveillance involved inspecting 1,805 houses, revealing larvae in 42 homes. Similarly, during outdoor surveillance across 1,587 locations, larvae were found at eight sites.
