Rare Super Blue Moon Captivates Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan witnessed a rare astronomical event: the super blue moon on Monday night. 

This extraordinary phenomenon, observable across the country at 11:26 PM local time, drew the attention of stargazers and skywatchers alike.

A super blue moon occurs when the moon’s orbit brings it closer to Earth, making it appear significantly larger and brighter than usual

 Specifically, a supermoon is approximately 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a typical full moon.

This particular event is even more special as it coincides with a seasonal blue moon—a term used when a season has four full moons, with the third being termed as the blue moon.

Such an event is exceedingly rare, with the next occurrence not expected until 2037. During this super blue moon, the moon will be about 226,000 miles from Earth, making it a particularly remarkable sight for enthusiasts of the night sky. 

Observers were treated to a striking display, characterized by its enhanced brightness and size, leaving a memorable impression.
