Ramesh Arora Visits Home of Murdered Christian Man

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora visited the home of the murdered Christian man, Marshal Yaqoob, at Patiala House near GOR, on Saturday to express his condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family.
The young man was shot at and killed by a neighbour due to a personal grudge. The minister met the affected family and offered his condolences. He stated that the tragic incident had shaken the entire community and area.
Arora expressed deep sympathy with the affected family and assured them that the Punjab government stands with them during this difficult time.
Speaking to media representatives later, the minister said that he was there on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, who had sought a report on the incident.
He mentioned that the DIG was given 48 hours to submit the report, which will conclude by this evening. He expressed hope that the culprits will soon be brought to justice.
In response to a question of media persons, he expressed surprise that the DSP concerned had facilitated a reconciliation despite the fact that the accused had been threatening the family.
He stated that the Secretary of Human Rights has been instructed to compile a report on why Rescue 1122 and the concerned police arrived late, according to the family.
Arora assured the affected family of complete protection and the swift arrest of the culprits. He mentioned that a detailed report will soon be presented to the Chief Minister of Punjab to review financial assistance and other measures for the affected family.
The minister instructed the AC Lahore to investigate the incident and directed the SHO Racecourse to ensure the protection of the affected family.
AC Lahore Nabeel Ahmed, Director Human Rights Department Muhammad Yousaf, Pastor Shaukat Fazal, and relevant police officials were also present on this occasion.
