QAU, AIOU, IIUI: Education Ministry Shortlists Nine Candidates For VC Posts

Islamabad: The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has shortlisted nine candidates for the posts of vice-chancellors of three major federal universities.

The sources informed on Thursday that vice-chancellors of Allama Iqbal Open University, Quaid-e-Azam University and International Islamic University are to be appointed.

Earlier, the ministry of education began the process of selecting the heads of three federal universities after the end of the tenures of serving vice-chancellors.

According to the details, the name list and summary for the appointment of vice-chancellors have been sent to President Dr Arif Alvi for finalization, the sources informed.

The summary has included the names of Dr Fazal Khaliq, Dr Raheel Qamar and Dr Niaz for appointment as VCs of Quaid-e-Azam University.

The short-listed names for Allama Iqbal Open University included Dr Ziauddin, Dr Nasir Mehmood and Dr Mudassar. For International Islamic University Islamabad, the three short-listed candidates are Dr Tahir Khalili, Dr Amina Moazzam and Dr Khalil; while the final three names for Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad are  Dr Fazal Khaliq, Dr Raheel Qamar and Dr Niaz.

It is to mention here that the tenure of the previous VCs of these three major universities of Islamabad has been completed. Upon completion of their tenure, new appointments have been made. APP
