Punjab Sees Slight Respite As Dengue Cases Drop To 77

Lahore: In a promising development, a recent dip in temperatures across Punjab has resulted in a noteworthy decrease in dengue cases, with only three confirmed cases reported on Sunday.

Fresh data released by the Health Department reveals a total of 15,185 confirmed cases documented across 36 districts in Punjab throughout 2023.

Among these, Lahore stands as the most affected, reporting 7,029 cases, followed by Rawalpindi with 2,654, Gujranwala with 1,591, Multan with 1,464, and Faisalabad with 918 cases. However, in the past 24 hours, Lahore reported merely two cases, while Faisalabad reported only one.

Ali Jaan Khan, Secretary of Health Punjab, issued a heartfelt plea to citizens, stressing the crucial role of maintaining clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue. He called for cooperation with health department teams actively engaged in controlling the outbreak.
