Punjab Remains In Clutches Of Dengue Fever

Lahore: As many as 169 new cases of dengue fever were reported in various regions of Punjab, bringing the year’s cumulative count to 9,862 confirmed cases distributed across 36 districts, according to the District Health Department.

Presently, 148 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 68 of them hospitalised in Lahore district.

The circumstances are as yet proceeding, with Sheikhupura reporting three cases of dengue, while Kasur recorded two new cases in the same time period. Attock, Sialkot, Lodharan, Pakpatan, Khoshab and Vehari reported one case each in 24 hours.

Punjab Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan issued a compelling plea for citizens to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever. Khan urged cooperation with health department teams which are working tirelessly to combat the outbreak.
