Punjab Records 72 Fresh Dengue Cases

Lahore: At least 72 fresh dengue cases were reported in parts of Punjab on Friday, health sources said.

The sources said that the situation remains dire, with Lahore reporting an additional 37 new dengue cases, Rawalpindi five, Gujranwala four, Multan nine, and Faisalabad seven.

Additionally, Sheikhupura and Kasur have reported two new cases each, while Attock, Okara, Khanewal, Rahimyar Khan, Toba Tek Singh, and Vehari each reported a single case of the dengue virus in the last 24 hours.

Presently, 55 dengue patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, with 21 receiving care in Lahore district hospitals alone. Punjab’s Health Secretary, Ali Jan Khan, issued a compelling plea to citizens, stressing the critical need to maintain clean and dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever.

Khan urged cooperation with Health Department teams, tirelessly working to combat the outbreak.
