‘Protecting Children’s Rights Key to Ending Child Labor’

Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that eliminating child labor is crucial for ensuring a bright future for children on Tuesday.
“Children are the future of this country, and no one should be allowed to deprive them of their potential, dignity, and rights. The Parliament of Pakistan is committed to eradicating child labor,” he stated in a message on World Day Against Child Labour.
The Speaker highlighted that child labor is a severe social challenge that impedes the physical, mental, and emotional growth of millions of children worldwide.
He underscored the need for increased investment in education, social protection programs, and child protective services, as mentioned in a news release.
Furthermore, he stressed the importance of raising awareness about child labor and engaging civil society, parents, children, and the general public in efforts to eliminate all forms of child labor.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq praised the efforts of all stakeholders tirelessly working to combat child labor and promote children’s rights.
He urged all stakeholders to continue their collaborative efforts to eradicate child labor.
On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Syed Mir Ghulam Mustafa Shah reiterated that child labor is a pressing social issue that needs urgent attention.
The speaker emphasized that children should have access to quality education and a safe environment, rather than being forced into labor.
He called on the government, civil society, and individuals to unite in the fight against child labor and ensure that every child has access to their fundamental rights.
