Karachi: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP) held an engaging community session in Essa Nagri as part of its Behavior Change Campaign to promote better water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices.

The event aimed to empower local residents by raising awareness about essential hygiene measures to enhance their living environment.

Residents, including women and children, actively participated, recognizing the significance of the campaign’s objectives.

A standout moment of the session was a role-play performance by Kashif Siddiqui and Saina Ali, who portrayed a “Prince and Princess” to deliver key hygiene messages in a light-hearted manner. The performance was not only entertaining but also highlighted the importance of adopting good hygiene practices.

Throughout the session, residents were encouraged to share their thoughts and challenges regarding local water and sanitation issues.

Many participants voiced concerns about water supply and sanitation infrastructure in the area, proposing solutions to improve these systems. Patriotic songs performed by children created a celebratory atmosphere and were well-received by attendees, fostering a sense of national unity and community pride.

KWSSIP, through its Katchi Abadis initiative, is dedicated to enhancing water and sewage systems in underserved areas of Karachi. This community session is part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness and inspire residents to adopt healthier practices, fostering a sense of ownership over local solutions to sanitation and public health issues.
