President, PM Extend Congratulations: Pakistan’s Maiden Space Mission Launched

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar extended their congratulations to the nation and the scientists as Pakistan embarked on its inaugural lunar mission, ICUBE-Q.

In separate statements, the president and the prime minister commended the core committee of the Institute of Space Technology, notably mentioning Dr Khurram Khurshid, as well as SUPARCO and China’s space agency, along with the students who contributed to the project.

They emphasized that the successful launch of this space mission marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s space program, expressing pride in the nation’s achievements in space technology. President Zardari highlighted the collaboration between Pakistan and China in space endeavors, anticipating further advancements in the sector.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed the Pak-China friendship extending into space exploration, portraying ICUBE-Q’s launch as Pakistan’s inaugural step in this domain, comparable to its achievements in nuclear technology.

He emphasized the international recognition of Pakistan’s mission, underscoring its importance in technological advancement.

The prime minister emphasized the potential of this achievement to enhance Pakistan’s capabilities in satellite communications and stimulate scientific research, economic growth, and national security.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also commended the young Pakistani students and scientists involved in ICUBE-Q’s launch, citing it as a testament to international cooperation in space exploration and showcasing the promise of Pakistan’s youth.
