Police Issue Challan to 5001 PSVs

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi district police issued challan slips to 5,001 public service vehicles (PSVs) and impounded 658 during a 26-day campaign, a police spokesperson reported on Friday.

The campaign was initiated under the directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, targeting unfit PSVs.

During the operation, the police imposed fines totaling over Rs 5.4 million on violators of traffic regulations.

The campaign also involved checking route permits and driver licenses, with legal action taken against 434 drivers for operating without a valid license.

Additionally, 27 drivers had their licenses revoked due to negligence, and 40 cases were registered against the drivers and owners of PSVs.
