Officials said that the arrest was carried out on Monday night under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) on the directives of the Jhelum deputy commissioner. The MPO allows authorities to detain citizens as a preventive measure to maintain public order.

Law enforcement authorities also sealed Mirza’s academy, locking its premises to block any public gatherings or related activities. The move follows mounting criticism from religious groups over Mirza’s recent online video, which triggered protests and heightened tensions in the district.

Police sources added that the measures were taken to avert any law-and-order situation and to prevent further unrest.
