PM&DC Hikes MDCAT Fee to Rs9,000, Up 80% in Two Years

News Desk

Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has raised the registration fee for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) from Rs7,000 to Rs9,000 for the upcoming MBBS admissions, marking an 80 percent increase in two years.

In 2023, the fee stood at Rs5,000 before rising to Rs7,000 in 2024. With the latest hike, the cost of appearing in the mandatory entry exam for medical and dental colleges has climbed by Rs4,000 since 2023, adding financial pressure on thousands of aspiring candidates and their families.

Given the large number of students taking the exam annually, the PM&DC is expected to collect around Rs2 billion in registration revenue this year.
