PM Shehbaz, Yunus Vow to Deepen Pakistan-Bangladesh Ties

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday met Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Government of Bangladesh, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to building constructive and forward-looking relations with Dhaka based on mutual respect, trust, and shared aspirations for regional peace and prosperity.
The meeting, described as “warm and cordial,” was held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. Both leaders reviewed the state of Pakistan-Bangladesh bilateral ties and discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in trade, regional connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
Professor Yunus appreciated Pakistan’s initiative to deepen engagement and underscored the importance of boosting bilateral trade and cultural linkages.
The discussion reflected the mutual commitment of both sides to work together for the well-being of their people and to contribute to the stability of South Asia.
