PM Shehbaz Greets Belarusian President with Guard of Honour

Islamabad: Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was accorded a guard of honour at the Prime Minister’s House on Tuesday, where he met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for delegation-level talks.
Upon his arrival, President Lukashenko was warmly received by Prime Minister Shehbaz, and the national anthems of Pakistan and Belarus were played as the dignitary stood at the salute dias. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces presented a guard of honour, which the Belarusian president reviewed.
Following the formal welcome, Prime Minister Shehbaz and President Lukashenko introduced their respective delegations before proceeding with bilateral discussions.
During the visit, the Belarusian president also planted a sapling at the Prime Minister’s House.
Earlier, on Monday, President Lukashenko was received at the airport by Prime Minister Shehbaz and his cabinet members as he arrived in Pakistan for a three-day official visit.
During his stay, the president is expected to engage in comprehensive talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz, focusing on areas of bilateral cooperation. Several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are also anticipated to be signed.
