Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the formation of a negotiation committee made up of members from the ruling coalition to address proposals concerning the National Assembly.
The move follows a request from PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, who asked the Speaker of the National Assembly to facilitate dialogue.
The committee will include prominent figures from the government and coalition parties, such as Senator Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naveed Qamar, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Abdul Aleem Khan, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and Sardar Khalid Magsi.
Barrister Gohar, representing PTI, had earlier appealed to the Speaker to mediate discussions, underscoring the importance of resolving political disagreements through dialogue. He emphasized the need for talks with PTI, prioritizing national security and the country’s broader interests.
Shehbaz Sharif praised the Speaker’s efforts and called for unity, stating, “Pakistan belongs to all of us, and we must place the nation’s interests above everything else.”
