PM Shehbaz Attends UNGA, Meets Global Leaders

New York:  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the opening session of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) today, marking the beginning of the annual gathering of world leaders.

The prime minister, accompanied by a high-level delegation, arrived in New York on Monday evening to participate in the annual session of the 193-member UNGA.

In addition to attending the opening session, the prime minister is scheduled to attend various meetings and engage with world leaders on the sidelines of the event.

Members of the delegation include Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, Federal Education and Professional Training Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi.

During his stay, Prime Minister Sharif will engage informally with global leaders at a reception hosted by the UN Secretary-General for dignitaries attending the UNGA session. Additionally, he is set to meet President of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu to explore ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
