Islamabad/Quetta/Peshawar: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, along with federal and provincial leaders, on Saturday paid rich tribute to Pakistan’s security forces for foiling coordinated terrorist attacks across Balochistan and delivering a major blow to militant networks operating in the province.
According to official statements, security forces successfully thwarted attacks at 12 locations, including Quetta, Noshki, Dalbandin, Pasni and Gwadar.
During the operations, at least 58 terrorists were killed, while intelligence-based operations carried out over the past 48 hours led to the neutralization of 88 key terrorists backed by India, officials said.
In a statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the professionalism, courage and operational competence of the officers and personnel of the security forces for crushing the nefarious designs of Fitna-e-Hindustan aimed at destabilising Balochistan.
He said the operations marked a significant success in the ongoing war against terrorism.

The prime minister also paid homage to 10 valiant security personnel who embraced martyrdom during the operations, offering prayers for the elevation of their ranks and patience for their bereaved families.
“The entire nation, including myself, is proud of its martyrs,” he said, reaffirming that the fight against terrorism would continue until its complete eradication. He emphasized that the nation stood shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and security.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that more than 700 terrorists have been eliminated across the province over the past year as part of sustained counterterrorism efforts.
In a statement on social media platform X, he revealed that nearly 70 terrorists were killed in the last two days alone during security operations.
He said terrorists belonging to Fitna-e-Hindustan attempted attacks in multiple areas early Saturday morning but were successfully repelled by the Balochistan Police and Frontier Corps (FC).

“These cowardly attacks cannot weaken the resolve of the state,” Bugti said, adding that operations would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the site of a bomb blast in Quetta and reviewed the overall security situation. Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan briefed him on the incident and the response by law enforcement agencies.
Bugti praised the Police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for their swift and effective action, which he said helped prevent further damage.
Security sources said that in addition to the 10 security personnel martyred, five members of a Baloch labourer family from Khuzdar, including one woman and three children, were also killed in the attacks in Gwadar.
The sources added that further pursuit operations and aerial surveillance were ongoing.
They further claimed that open support extended by Indian media and social media accounts to Fitna-e-Hindustan had exposed the nexus between the two.

Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan also paid glowing tributes to the security forces, saluting the bravery of personnel who laid down their lives in defence of the country. He said operations would continue until the complete elimination of terrorists and that enemies of the state would be taken to their logical end.
KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi similarly lauded the security forces for thwarting coordinated attacks and preventing large-scale loss of life. He described the sacrifices of the martyrs as a source of pride for the nation and extended condolences to the families of fallen security personnel and civilian victims.
Reaffirming national resolve, leaders across the country stressed that terrorism would not be allowed to destabilise Balochistan and that security forces would continue to confront and defeat hostile elements to ensure lasting peace and stability.
