PIA Corporation’s Final Auction Scheduled for October 30th

Islamabad: The final auction of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Corporation will take place on October 30, 2024, as informed by Parliamentary Secretary for Communication, Gul Asghar Khan, during a session of the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Responding to a query from MNA Sharmila Sahiba Faruqui Hashaam during the seventh meeting of the 10th National Assembly session, Khan stated that the PIA privatization process, which began in February 2024, will reach its conclusion by the end of the month.

The privatization is being conducted through a structured process involving various institutions.

He explained that the Privatization Commission Board, led by the Minister for Privatization, oversaw the process, with the Secretary of the Privatization Commission serving as the board’s secretary. The decision to privatize PIA was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Privatization.

Khan also noted that PIA’s assets have been separated, with operational assets being parked under PIA Corporation. The final auction will be conducted under the banner of PIA Corporation on October 30.
