PCB announces Pakistan’s 2026 T20I tour schedule to Sri Lanka

Islamabad: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday unveiled the schedule for Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka in January 2026, where the national side will play a three-match T20I series as part of its preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
All three matches will be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on January 7, 9 and 11.
According to the PCB, the tour will provide crucial match practice ahead of next year’s global event. Pakistan have been placed in Group A for the World Cup and will play all their group-stage fixtures in Colombo. The tournament is scheduled from February 7 to March 8 and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
The announcement comes as Pakistan wrapped up a successful 2025 home season, which included series wins against South Africa and Sri Lanka. Pakistan defeated South Africa 2-1 in both the T20I and ODI series in October, before sweeping Sri Lanka 3-0 in a three-match ODI series. The team also lifted the trophy in the T20I tri-series featuring Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
Across the busy season, the national side lost only three matches — one ODI and two T20Is — while securing victories in all four series. Following the conclusion of the home season, the players will take a month-long break.
After the January tour of Sri Lanka, Pakistan are expected to host Australia for a T20I series ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
