Islamabad: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz shared her journey to the Chief Minister’s chair metaphorically as crossing a river of fire during her address at the passing out parade of Police Training College Chowhang in Lahore.

She celebrated the presence of 650 women officers in the police passing out parade, expressing her joy at seeing women actively participating in law enforcement duties, including carrying arms.

Maryam Nawaz acknowledged the dual responsibilities women often shoulder, both in their professional roles and in managing households.

The Punjab CM also expressed satisfaction at witnessing the first female police officer being honored with a ceremonial sword.

She eagerly awaited this event since assuming office, having been encouraged by the Inspector General of Punjab (IGP) to attend the passing out parade of women police officers, eagerly inquiring about its schedule on a daily basis.

Maryam Nawaz remarked, “Today, when I saw the women officers, I was convinced that they completed the training very seriously. Today, I wore the police uniform for the first time, and it made me realize the enormity of the responsibility it carries.”

She emphasized, “I know that you understand the weight of this responsibility. As the chief minister, I make decisions, but you are the ones who implement them. You bear even greater responsibility, and your compassion should be for the oppressed, not for the oppressor.”

Maryam Nawaz reiterated, “There is no revenge in my heart. It is crucial to establish justice in society. I hope you will strive to bring an end to oppression.”

He mentioned, “Sitting on the chair of the Chief Minister, if I have to make a decision against someone, I do it with a heavy heart. It’s not an easy task for me; I have to prove myself.”

The CM emphasized, “When I go home, I share my entire day with my father. Seeing the gratitude on my father’s face, I feel that my hard work has paid off. Trust your daughters, stand by them.”

She added, “I was informed that this police academy was built during the regime of Nawaz Sharif.”

Furthermore, Maryam Nawaz expressed, “It’s a significant responsibility for me to carry forward the work of Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif. I feel obligated to ensure justice and to serve the 12 crore people.”
