Pakistanis in UAE Urged to Avoid Sharing Rumors on Social Media

Islamabad: Pakistani diplomatic missions in the United Arab Emirates have advised Pakistani nationals living in the country to avoid sharing irresponsible or unverified content on social media amid rising regional tensions.
The Embassy of Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai released an awareness video titled “Be Careful, Stay Safe”, urging Pakistanis to remain cautious while posting online and to refrain from spreading rumors or false information.
According to Gulf media reports, Emirati authorities have warned that individuals found sharing misinformation or rumors could face heavy penalties under local laws, including fines exceeding 10 million Pakistani rupees.
Two Killed in Missile Debris
Meanwhile, two Pakistani nationals were killed after missile debris fell on a vehicle in the Al Barsha area of Dubai. The incident occurred amid ongoing attacks linked to tensions between Iran and the UAE.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, the overall death toll from recent Iranian attacks in the country has risen to four, including two Pakistanis.
The ministry reported that since the beginning of the attacks, Iran has launched 238 ballistic missiles, 1,422 drones, and eight cruise missiles toward the UAE. On the latest day of attacks, 17 ballistic missiles and 117 drones were fired.
Officials said that most of the projectiles were intercepted by air defense systems, with 16 missiles and 113 drones successfully foiled. One missile and four drones reportedly fell into the sea.
Following the deaths of the two Pakistani nationals, Asif Ali Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif expressed their condolences to the victims’ families.
President Zardari said that conflicts should be resolved through diplomacy and tolerance. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and assured that Pakistani diplomatic missions in the UAE are in contact with relevant authorities to provide assistance and facilitate the return of the bodies.
