Pakistani Scientist Wins Best Young Researcher Award at Kazan Forum

Kazan, Russia: Pakistani scientist Dr. Sharmeen Fayyaz, a Research Officer at the National Institute of Virology, Dr Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has been awarded the Best Young Researcher Award at the prestigious Kazan Global Youth Summit 2025.
Dr. Fayyaz, who is engaged in advanced research in virology and molecular medicine, received the award at a special ceremony from Dr Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, along with other eminent international guests.
Congratulating her, Dr Choudhary said the recognition was not only a personal milestone for Dr. Fayyaz but also a matter of pride for Pakistan and the wider Muslim Ummah.
He noted that young scientists like her represent the future of Pakistan’s scientific community and will play a vital role in tackling global health challenges.
