Islamabad: This week, prominent Pakistani designer Faraz Manan earned a spot on the esteemed annual Business of Fashion (BoF) 500 list, which celebrates the most influential figures in the global fashion industry.
Compiled by The Business of Fashion magazine, the BoF 500 recognizes professionals from various sectors of the fashion ecosystem, including luxury brands, high street fashion, media, technology, and sustainability.
Manan, who began his career in 2003, has since become one of Pakistan’s leading designers, establishing his eponymous label, Faraz Manan. His creations have been worn by some of Bollywood’s top actresses, including Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Sridevi, Alia Bhatt, and Kiara Advani.
“Honored and delighted to be a part of The BoF 500: people shaping the global fashion industry,” Manan shared with his followers on Instagram on Friday.
The BoF 500 acknowledged Manan as a key figure in Pakistan’s fashion industry and a top choice for couture bridal and formal wear buyers in South Asia.
According to the BoF 500 website, Manan gained prominence through his unique style, blending intricate embellishments, luxurious fabrics, and a modern aesthetic.
In 2015, Manan made history as one of the first South Asian designers to open a boutique in Dubai. By 2024, his brand had garnered over a million followers on Instagram, reflecting its international appeal.
Admiration from Bollywood’s elite has also positioned Manan’s brand as a cultural bridge between India and Pakistan, two neighboring countries with limited cultural exchanges due to political tensions.
