Pakistan Strongly Condemns Houthi Attack on Madinah Power Station

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the recent drone and missile attack carried out by Houthi militia targeting the Tayba power station in Madinah Munawwarah, reiterating its unyielding solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against threats to its territorial integrity and sovereignty.
In an official statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan denounced the offensive against critical civilian infrastructure, characterizing the aggression as a blatant violation of international law and regional peace. Islamabad stressed that such hostile acts imperil the lives of innocent civilians and jeopardize the security of sacred Islamic sites, commending the vigilant Saudi defense forces for neutralizing the aerial threats before major disaster could unfold.
The condemnation reflects Pakistan’s historic, fraternal, and strategic ties with Riyadh, which remain central to Islamabad’s foreign policy framework. Any aggression directed toward the Kingdom deeply resonates across Pakistan, eliciting unified diplomatic pushback from civil and military leaders alike. Pakistani diplomats noted that sustained targeting of energy installations in the Arabian Peninsula poses grave consequences for regional stability, global fuel supply chains, and maritime safety in adjacent waterways.
Reaffirming its full support for Saudi Arabia’s right to defend its sovereign borders, Pakistan urged the international community to take decisive measures to halt illicit militia strikes across the Middle East. Diplomatic observers anticipate Islamabad will pursue heightened coordination with Riyadh and regional allies at multilateral forums, including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to bolster collective security initiatives.
