Pakistan Secure Five-Wicket Win Over Zimbabwe

Islamabad: Pakistan began their Tri-Nation Series campaign with a convincing five-wicket win over Zimbabwe at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.
Chasing a modest target of 147, Pakistan faced early setbacks as Sahibzada Farhan (16), Saim Ayub (22), Babar Azam (0), and captain Salman Ali Agha (1) fell cheaply. Fakhar Zaman anchored the chase with a fluent 44 off 32 balls, forging a crucial 61-run partnership with Usman Khan before being dismissed by Richard Ngarava.
Usman Khan (37 off 28) and Mohammad Nawaz (21 off 12) guided Pakistan to 151 for 5 in 19.2 overs, sealing victory with four balls to spare. Mohammad Nawaz was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

For Zimbabwe, Brad Evans impressed with figures of 2 for 26, while Tinotenda Maposa and Graeme Cremer took one wicket each. Earlier, Zimbabwe posted a competitive 147 for 8 in 20 overs, with openers Brian Bennett (49 off 36) and Tadiwanashe Marumani (30 off 22) laying a solid foundation.
Skipper Sikandar Raza contributed 34 off 24 balls, while Brendan Taylor added 14; the rest of the batting line struggled to maintain momentum.
Muhammad Nawaz led Pakistan’s bowling attack with 2 for 22, supported by Shaheen Shah Afridi, Salman Mirza, Saim Ayub, and Abrar Ahmed, who each claimed a wicket.
Upcoming Fixtures: Sri Lanka will face Zimbabwe on Thursday, followed by Pakistan taking on Sri Lanka on Saturday.
