Pakistan Rejects Israeli Parliament’s Sovereignty Claim Over Occupied West Bank

Islamabad: Pakistan has categorically rejected the Israeli parliament’s recent move claiming sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, denouncing it as a provocative and illegal act that violates international law and the rights of the Palestinian people.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Foreign Office condemned the Israeli legislation, terming it a “blatant violation of international norms” and a “serious infringement on the fundamental rights of Palestinians.”

“The Israeli parliament’s illegal claim over the occupied West Bank is condemnable,” said the Foreign Office spokesperson. “It represents a continuous breach of international law and undermines efforts aimed at achieving peace in the region.”

Islamabad warned that such unilateral and inflammatory steps are part of a broader strategy to cement Israel’s illegal occupation and alter the internationally recognized status of Palestinian territories.

Reiterating its longstanding position, Pakistan reaffirmed that it does not recognize any Israeli actions aimed at unilaterally changing the status of Palestinian land.

The country reaffirmed its firm support for a two-state solution based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as the capital of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

The spokesperson called on the international community to take urgent action, hold Israel accountable, and ensure the implementation of relevant United Nations resolutions to uphold justice and international law.
