Pakistan Rejects Afghanistan’s Claims Over Chaman Incident

Islamabad: Pakistan on Thursday rejected the claims made by Afghanistan regarding an incident of firing that occurred earlier in the day at the Chaman Pak-Afghan border.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the firing was initiated from the Afghan side, prompting a measured and responsible response from Pakistani security forces.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the ministry stated, “We strongly reject claims circulated by the Afghan side regarding today’s incident at the Pak-Afghan border at Chaman. Firing was initiated from the Afghan side, to which our security forces responded immediately in a measured and responsible manner.”
The statement added that the situation was brought under control due to the responsible action of Pakistani forces, and that the ceasefire remains intact.

“Pakistan remains committed to ongoing dialogue and expects reciprocity from Afghan authorities,” the ministry emphasized.
Draft for 27th Amendment to Be Presented Before Cabinet: Rana Sanaullah
Advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that the draft for the 27th Constitutional Amendment would be presented before the Federal Cabinet tomorrow for approval.
Speaking to a private television channel, he said that after the cabinet’s approval, the draft would be forwarded to the Standing Committees, where it would be debated.
He added that once cleared by the committees, the draft would be sent to the National Assembly following approval from the Senate.
Responding to a question about the proposed constitutional courts, the advisor said that there was a consensus among coalition partners on establishing such courts.
To another query, he noted that a mechanism already exists for the transfer and posting of judges, ensuring transparency and coordination within the judicial framework.
