Pakistan Demarches Taliban After N Waziristan Attack

News Desk

Islamabad: Pakistan on Friday condemned in the strongest possible terms a terrorist attack carried out by Khwarij elements of the Kharji Gul Bahadur Group on a military camp in North Waziristan district, which resulted in the martyrdom of four Pakistani soldiers.

In a statement, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that to convey Pakistan’s strong demarche, the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry expressed grave concern over the continued support and facilitation allegedly provided by the Afghan Taliban regime to the Fitna Al-Khawarij/Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (FAK/TTP), enabling them to carry out terrorist attacks against Pakistan’s military and civilian population along the Pak-Afghan border and in adjoining areas.

The spokesperson said it was emphasized that the permissive environment enjoyed by the FAK/TTP in Afghanistan contravenes Afghanistan’s international commitments, as well as assurances given to Pakistan that its soil would not be used for terrorism against any country.

Pakistan demanded a full investigation into the incident and decisive action against the perpetrators and facilitators of terrorist attacks launched from Afghan soil.

The Afghan Taliban regime was urged to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable measures against all terrorist groups operating from its territory, including their leadership, and to deny the continued use of Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan.
