Three-Day Curfew Imposed in Gilgit, Skardu

Gilgit: The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has imposed a three-day curfew in Gilgit and Skardu and requested deployment of Pakistan Army troops to assist civil authorities following large-scale protests that have strained law and order in the region.
An official notification from the Home and Prisons Department described the security situation as “precarious,” noting that the unrest was triggered by the reported assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The notification, addressed to the Force Commander, Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA), cited concerns that the situation could escalate further, particularly in Gilgit and Skardu.

It requested army deployment and the imposition of a curfew from March 2 to 4 to safeguard lives and property. A schedule outlining periods of curfew and relaxation has also been issued.
Officials said security measures are being tightened across sensitive areas, and residents have been urged to stay indoors and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and stability during the curfew period.
Peshawar: The Pakistani Armed Forces have successfully destroyed an ammunition depot belonging to Fitna al-Khwarij and the Afghan Taliban in Khost as part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil-Haq, launched in response to unprovoked aggression by the Afghan Taliban.
According to security sources, the retaliatory strikes were strong and precise, dealing a significant blow to militant infrastructure along the Pak-Afghanistan border.

“The operation has caused a comprehensive setback to Fitna al-Khwarij and the Afghan Taliban on all fronts,” officials said, highlighting the effectiveness of Pakistan’s defensive and offensive measures against cross-border threats.
