PAF Tests Indigenous Taimoor Air-Launched Cruise Missile

Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has successfully conducted the flight test of the indigenously developed Taimoor Weapon System, an air-launched cruise missile capable of striking land and sea targets with high precision at a range of 600 kilometres, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
In a statement, the military’s media wing described the test as a major milestone in the advancement of Pakistan’s national aerospace and defence capabilities.
The missile is equipped with a state-of-the-art navigation and guidance system and is designed to fly at very low altitudes, enabling it to evade hostile air and missile defence systems.
According to the ISPR, the Taimoor Weapon System’s precision-strike capability significantly enhances the PAF’s conventional deterrence and operational flexibility, further strengthening Pakistan’s overall defence posture.
The successful test also underscores the growing technical maturity, innovation, and self-reliance of the country’s defence industry.

The flight test was witnessed by senior officers of the Pakistan armed forces, as well as scientists and engineers who played a key role in the development of the advanced weapon system.
Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu congratulated the scientists, engineers, and PAF personnel on the achievement.
He praised their professional excellence, dedication, and unwavering commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s defence capabilities, and reaffirmed the nation’s resolve to achieve technological self-sufficiency while maintaining a credible conventional deterrent in the evolving regional security environment.
“The successful test of the Taimoor weapon system reflects Pakistan Air Force’s continued pursuit of operational readiness, technological superiority, and national security objectives,” the ISPR said.
The development follows a similar achievement by the Pakistan Navy, which conducted a successful flight test of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship ballistic missile in November last year.
Like the Taimoor system, the naval missile is capable of engaging both sea and land targets with high accuracy and features advanced guidance technology and enhanced manoeuvrability for operations in complex maritime environments.
