Opera Star Saira Peter Stuns with Musical Showcase at PNCA

Islamabad: Renowned British-Pakistani opera singer Saira Peter captivated the audience with her vibrant performance at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) during the Independence Day celebrations.
The event, held late Saturday, was graced by Secretary of National Heritage and Culture, Hassan Nasir Jamy, Director General of PNCA, Muhammad Ayoub Jamali, and a diverse crowd.
Saira Peter’s performance was a highlight, featuring an eclectic mix of milli naghma, patriotic songs, classical singing, Sufi Kalam, and a special Arabic song.
Jansar Ali from Sindh also took the stage and received appreciation from the audience.
In his opening remarks, PNCA Director General Muhammad Ayoub Jamali extended a warm welcome to all guests, including Saira Peter.
Her performance received an overwhelming response from the packed auditorium, where she performed opera and classical songs in various languages.
Saira Peter, known for her passion for uniting people through music, is currently collaborating with British artists to develop the world’s first full-scale ‘Sufi Opera,’ a musical stage drama based on the story of Umar Marvi.
She is also celebrated as the first Pakistani singer to record an album of Sufi poetry in opera, a genre originating from Italy.
