Only One Dengue Case Reported in Punjab

Lahore: Dengue has nearly been eradicated in Punjab with only one case reported on Sunday, according to the Health Department, urging continued Vigilance.

The latest data from the Health Department indicates a significant reduction in dengue cases across Punjab, with only one reported case in the entire province on Sunday.

In the year 2024, a total of 16 confirmed dengue cases have been recorded across 36 districts, with 10 cases reported in Lahore, two each in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad, and one each in Gujrat and Vehari. Currently, hospitals in Punjab are treating a total of 7 patients, with one case under treatment in Lahore.

Health Secretary Ali Jaan Khan has issued a plea to citizens, urging them to uphold cleanliness and maintain dry surroundings as a preventive measure against dengue fever.

He also emphasized the importance of cooperation with health department teams working tirelessly to combat the virus.
