Islamabad: Northern Pakistan has become a winter paradise, with snow-covered peaks, frozen lakes, and valleys blanketed in snow, drawing tourists from across the country and abroad. The region’s majestic landscape has been further enhanced by recent snowfall, turning it into an awe-inspiring destination.
Tourists are flocking to the area, eager to witness the breathtaking beauty of a Pakistani winter. The snow-clad mountains, frozen lakes, and serene valleys have become a major attraction, offering a magical winter experience.
“We have witnessed a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting these areas after the snowfall,” said the Managing Director of the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC). The snowfall has made these areas a must-visit destination for nature lovers.
Local residents are equally thrilled by the influx of tourists, which has boosted the local economy. Muhammad Ayub, a resident of Murree, shared, “The snowfall has brought a lot of joy and prosperity to our area. We are happy to see tourists enjoying the beauty of our region.”
Another local resident from Swat added, “We are doing our best to provide the best possible facilities for the visitors.”
However, the rising number of tourists has raised concerns about safety and infrastructure. A PTDC employee urged caution, advising tourists to be careful while traveling, especially in view of the heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures. “We are also working to improve the infrastructure and facilities to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for tourists,” he said.
Tourists are not only enjoying the snow, but also exploring the local culture and cuisine. “The food here is amazing, especially traditional dishes like sarson ka saag and makki ki roti,” said Ali Khan, a tourist from Lahore. For many, like Maria Ahmed from Karachi, it’s a dream come true: “I have never seen so much snow in my life. We’re having the best time here, building snowmen and making snow angels.”
As the northern regions of Pakistan continue to shine in their winter glory, they remain a major draw for both local and international visitors seeking an unforgettable seasonal experience.
