Islamabad: The National Assembly (NA) was informed that 93 passport offices have been established at Pakistan missions abroad, with no office in Afghanistan.

This effort aims to better serve overseas Pakistanis based on their population concentrations.

Minister Attaullah Tarar also discussed a recent fire incident at the H-9 Bazaar in Islamabad, where 625 stalls were destroyed, resulting in a financial loss of approximately Rs 280 million. An inquiry report has been submitted to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Tarar emphasized that the Prime Minister has directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to implement strict fire safety audits and improve firefighting capacity to prevent future incidents.

Additionally, efforts are underway to enhance the capacity of passport printing from 26,000 to 60,000 per day by the end of September.
