New Winter Timetable Proposed for Schools

Lahore: The School Education Department has finalized a new timetable for the winter season and forwarded a summary to the Chief Minister for formal approval regarding the revised school working hours.

According to the proposal, schools will commence at 8:30 am and close at 2:30 pm under the new schedule. The department sources confirmed that the Saturday holiday will remain unchanged in the updated timetable.

Once approved, the revised winter schedule will take effect from October 20 across all public and private schools in the province. The change aims to ensure a more comfortable environment for students and teachers during the colder months, aligning school hours with seasonal weather conditions.

A laptop distribution ceremony was held at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi on Friday to honour top-performing students of the Matric and Intermediate first annual examinations 2025, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The ceremony was presided over by Chairman BISE Rawalpindi Muhammad Adnan Khan and attended by Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan, Board Secretary Amjad Iqbal Khattak, teachers, parents, and a large number of students.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Muhammad Adnan Khan lauded Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s initiative to empower students through modern educational resources.
