Islamabad: Fans eagerly awaiting Stranger Things Season 5 may have to wait longer than expected, as creators Matt and Ross Duffer have addressed recent speculation regarding the final season’s release.

Duffer Brothers Debunk Release Date Rumors

Speaking to Variety, the Duffer Brothers dismissed rumors that Season 5 will arrive this year, confirming that post-production will extend into 2025.

Despite wrapping up filming, the creators emphasized that extensive visual effects work remains, which will take up a significant portion of next year.

“Right now, we’re just cutting all the visual effects sequences so they can get started on those in time for release,” said Matt Duffer. When asked about a release window, he added, “A lot of it hasn’t been decided in terms of exact dates and cadence.”

Ross Duffer reassured fans that the team is working diligently to complete the show, stating, “We’re working as fast as we possibly can … now it’s just sort of climbing up another hill as we head towards finally finishing this.”

Leaked Release Date Sparks Speculation

The Duffer Brothers’ statement comes weeks after a leaked Netflix screenshot suggested Stranger Things Season 5 would premiere on November 27, 2025.

Although the unverified date quickly spread online, Netflix has not officially confirmed the final season’s release timeline.

Will ‘Stranger Things’ Return in 2025?

While the Duffer Brothers are aiming for a 2025 launch, they acknowledged that the scale of post-production could push the release further. With Netflix prioritizing quality over speed, fans might have to wait a little longer before Hawkins’ final chapter unfolds.
