News Desk
Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi engaged in a telephonic conversation with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar on Saturday, acting on the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) directives to address the ongoing political situation.
During the discussion, Minister Naqvi reiterated the government’s commitment to adhering to the court’s orders, stating, “We are bound by the Islamabad High Court’s decision. Under the current circumstances, no processions, sit-ins, or rallies can be allowed.”
He further briefed Barrister Gohar on the imminent arrival of a high-level delegation from Belarus, led by the Belarusian President, Alexander Lukashenko. The delegation, comprising 80 members, is scheduled to visit Islamabad from November 24 to November 27, with President Lukashenko arriving on November 25.
The minister underscored the need to ensure a smooth visit for the delegation, citing it as a primary reason for imposing restrictions on political activities during this period.
In response, Barrister Gohar assured Minister Naqvi of consulting with his party leadership and providing a decision regarding compliance with the IHC’s directives.
The conversation marks a crucial step in navigating the delicate balance between political activities and diplomatic obligations.
