Nameer Khan Breaks Down His Transformation into Ammar in Qarz-e-Jaan

Islamabad: Newcomer Nameer Khan’s gripping portrayal of Ammar Bakhtiyar in the hit drama Qarz-e-Jaan has made a powerful impression on audiences.
Ammar quickly became one of the show’s most talked-about characters both loved and hated and Nameer’s intense performance is widely being praised as a standout.
After the emotional finale, Nameer went live on YouTube to connect with fans and open up about the demanding journey of bringing Ammar to life. He described it as one of the most challenging roles he’s taken on so far.
One of the most striking features of Ammar’s character was his frequent state of intoxication. Making this believable took serious effort. Nameer shared that he studied how intoxicated individuals behave, noting they often blink less and carry themselves differently. Instead of exaggerating, he went for a subtle, realistic portrayal.
“I figured someone who’s high would try to appear normal — that’s exactly what Ammar did. He didn’t want anyone to find out,” he explained.
To prepare, Nameer turned to online research to better understand the body language of someone under the influence. Interestingly, he’s allergic to cigarette smoke in real life. His mother had initially worried that the role might influence him to start smoking, but he reassured fans that he’s perfectly fine.
In reality, Nameer is calm and composed the polar opposite of Ammar’s volatile nature. For the high-intensity scenes, he developed a unique method to get into character: physically shaking his arms to boost his adrenaline and mentally push himself into the chaotic mindset that Ammar demanded.
“I had to raise my blood pressure, tap into that disturbed state only then could I become Ammar,” he shared.
His commitment clearly struck a chord with viewers, and Nameer is now being recognized as a promising new talent to watch.
