Muslim Community Confirms Monday as First Day of Rajab

North America: The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America has announced that Monday, December 22, 2025, will mark the first day of the month of Rajab, 1447 A.H. across the North American region.

The committee confirmed the start of the month following verified naked-eye sightings of the crescent moon at sunset on Sunday, December 21, 2025, from multiple locations across North America.

In their announcement, the committee encouraged the faithful to seek success in performing good deeds and prayed for the hastening of the return of Imam Mahdi (p).
