Mohsin Naqvi Condemns Attack on Former CJP’s Car in London
News Desk
Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the recent attack on a vehicle belonging to the Pakistan High Commission in London, which was carrying former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa and his wife Sarina.
The incident has raised security concerns for high-profile Pakistani figures abroad.
In an official statement on Wednesday, Mohsin Naqvi instructed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to analyze video footage and identify those involved in the assault on the former CJP’s car.
Action Against Attackers
Naqvi directed authorities to file a First Information Report (FIR) against the attackers and to suspend their passports and Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).
He also ordered officials to initiate the process for canceling the citizenship of those found responsible.
The interior minister emphasized that he will forward the case for citizenship cancellation to the federal cabinet for approval. Naqvi questioned why necessary security measures were not provided, given that Qazi Faez Isa had already received threatening messages. “We cannot remain silent on such incidents,” he asserted.
PTI Workers Allegedly Attack
On Tuesday night, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers reportedly attacked the vehicle carrying former CJP Qazi Faez Isa and his wife, Sarina, in London.
The PTI activists attempted to stop the High Commission car and even tried to damage its windows, chanting slogans upon seeing Qazi Isa’s car and running alongside it. Despite a police escort accompanying the vehicle, the PTI workers attempted to block its path.
Qazi Faez Isa is currently in London to attend a ceremony for the constitution of benches at the Middle Temple.
PTI senior leaders, including Zulfi Bukhari, Malika Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani, addressed the gathering of party workers protesting against the former CJP outside the event venue.
