Mob Justice: Watchman Lynched After Killing Youth

Peshawar: A parking dispute in Galiyat turned deadly when a watchman fatally stabbed a young man, triggering mob violence that led to the lynching of the accused.
According to police, the incident occurred in the Seer Gharbi area under Changla Gali police station’s jurisdiction.
Imran Abbasi, a local youth, had parked his car in a housing society’s parking lot before heading home. Upon returning the next day, an argument broke out between him and the watchman, identified as Khan Zaman.
During the altercation, Khan Zaman repeatedly stabbed Imran Abbasi, killing him on the spot and injuring his brother. As news of the incident spread, enraged locals gathered, setting five houses in the society on fire.
Police swiftly arrived and arrested the accused, who was hiding in a building’s basement. However, as officers brought him out, an angry mob overpowered them and lynched the watchman using sticks and stones.
Several police personnel sustained injuries in the violence. The watchman’s body was later shifted to Abbottabad Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
